Halloween at the Rumseys

Our Little Princess

Kasidee used her money that she earned over the summer to buy curlers for her hair. This was after her first night of using the curlers! She was so excited to be able to buy something that she wanted.

Kasidee made a fabulous change of electives right before school started and is loving it. She loves being in choir. She goes in early often to help her Choir Director before school. This coming weekend she is attending her first Solo and Ensemble and is excited. Many of her friends are in choir and she just loves it.




Kasidee attended the temple for the first time this October. It was really special because she was able to go with Tristan and take some Rumsey family names. This is the last time they will go together until Kasidee is a Mia Maid because they split the youth up. What a special evening for her. I wish I could have been there.



Kasidee loves having fun with kids, especially her cousins! All of Davis' Grandmother's family came in to celebrate her 94th birthday on the 10th of October. It was wonderful to be together with everyone and Dorothy before she passed away.

















Red Ribbon Week at Strack. Kasidee and Tristan had such a blast coming up with funny and creative outfits for the week. This was all Red day. Kasidee has enjoyed getting involved in her school. This fall she has been the manager of the 7th grade volleyball team and is looking forward to trying out for the basketball team in a week.


Kasidee is a fabulous big sister and helper! She has such a beautiful smile and we love her dearly!

The Energizer Bunny!

Our little Energizer Bunny pooped out after a hard day of play. She loves sleeping underneath things and we are still working on Alexa wanting to sleep in her bed rather than her closet, yes I said closet! She loves sleeping in things just her size. If we put Alexa in her bed she always ends up with blankets inside the closet.











Alexa has become a great helper (aka "server"). She loves to serve and help. My favorite is when she wants to feed me and exclaims, "Mommy, I'm serving you!" She is such a good helper, picking up garbage, Texas pine cones, clearing her place, and now helping to set the table. She is also a great clothes folder!










Blastball! Tonight was Alexa's last night as a Tinkerbell. This has been quite a fun experience watching 3-4 year olds chase after a ball, grab it and then yell blast. The team hitting the ball off of the Tee run to 1 base and jump on it (it HONKS). It makes me smile just thinking about these past 6 weeks of watching her and the other 5 girls on her team. There was a lot of dirt digging and running around in circles. We never knew what they would do next.














Alexa has been asking to be 4 for a long time now, now she finally is. She wakes up in the morning and tells me, "Mom I'm still 4 today!"













Alexa started Preschool at the end of October at our High School and she just loves it. As she goes off to school I love watching her big smile as one of her teachers comes to get her and then as she walks into the building she turns around and gives me a big smile and wave. I love hearing all about her day! So far they have had a search for "Corduroy's button" around the high school and found it in the Principals' office and Trick or Treating. What has Tristan been up to!

What has my 5'4" (he grew 6 inches in a year!), smooth-talking, b-boxing, cool dude been up too?????
Well.....for starters he's in 8th grade now and loves it more than he thought!











He's been playing basketball in athletics almost everyday trying to work up his skills for the basketball team!











He just finished his 2nd cross country season and really enjoys it when he is in shape! He loves doing push-ups and is so close to doing a pull-up. Every morning he works on his pull-ups











He is a great older brother who loves a funny face! (and an expert weeder, bathroom cleaner, vacuumer, and pine cone picker up-er)



















8th grade must be the year of never ending projects! For History he picked to make a Colonial Bridge. Grandpa Miller saved the day with a trip to Michaels and all the needed supplies and plan to put this bridge-making into motion. On presentation day all the 8th Graders dressed up in Colonial attire for the day, doesn't he look great!



















Red Ribbon Week was the last week of October this year at Strack Intermediate. Tristan did an A+ Job of being creative.
















Tristan is enjoying Scouting and Young Men's activities. On the 14th of October Tristan (and Kasidee) went to the Temple and had a wonderful experience being closer to his Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ. I am so grateful that he was able to go with his sister, I love it when they have these special experiences together. Tristan enjoys reaching his church goals and is striving to make himself a better person. We love our Tristan!

Memories of Dorothy

Our sweet Grandma Dorothy died this morning and has gone home to be with her dear husband, Allen. Dorothy was such a joy to be around and loved being with her family and friends. She never had a negative word to say and was truly a ray of sunshine.

I remember when I first met Dorothy and Papa. It was while I was dating Davis. We had Easter Brunch at their home. They are two of the most gracious people! My favorite memory of Dorothy and Papa was the trip we took down the middle fork on the Salmon River the summer after we were engaged. They were real troopers, Dorothy at 85 years old and Papa at 86 floating down the river, going over rapids, sleeping in a tent on the ground in freezing temperatures, and no bathroom facilities. It makes me smile everytime I think of this memory.










I enjoyed watching Davis with his Grandma. He loved her very much. These are some fun pictures that I have of him with his Grandma Dorothy! One of my favorites was on July 4 in 2006 when he went and picked up Dorothy and we decorated her wheelchair and Alexa's stroller and walked in our subdivision parade. What a fun morning that was! (As you can tell it was a very humid Texas morning!)

Alexa's Birthday

Happy Birthday Sunshine! Our little girl is 4 today!



























What a beautiful day Texas day, perfect weather for a day at the park with her friends. Alexa helped me make my first attempt at strawberry cupcakes inside of icecream cones for her friends at the park. She was just so excited.











That night I attempted to make a homemade strawberry cake with real strawberries into a butterfly shape. I'm glad my family is so easy going about what they eat! They always make me feel good.
For her birthday, we got her a pair of skates. It is fun to watch her skate.
